Customs fees are not included in your order. Customs and/or import taxes and duties are charged once the delivery reaches its final destination country. The charges and fees are the responsibility of the recipient, and must be paid in full prior to final receipt. Tether is not responsible for any customs fees or import taxes/duties. Customs policies vary from country to country so please refer to your local customs office for fees associated with your location. 

Please allow for up to seven days delivery time for items to clear customs. 

In the case of a customer refusing their package, there is a $50 restocking fee and you will be charged the difference in shipping costs from the discounted rate. It will be deducted from your refund once we receive the jewelry safe at our offices.

All of our products are designed and shipped from Berkeley, California.

We will accept exchanges and returns on non-gold eligible unworn jewelry still in its original heat-sealed packaging for up to 30 days after the date of original purchase for all orders. If you purchased your jewelry through one of our Partners, please reach out to the shop or studio directly.

There is a $10 Exchange fee and for exchanges and $20 Restock fee for returns. These fees are deducted from the refund amount and we do not refund shipping costs.

Most exchanges are made because of wrong sizing - once our team gets a chance to assess the correct sizing we will send out your jewelry once we receive the exchange item. 

To qualify for a return:

We ship all our jewelry in heat-sealed bags. For hygienic reasons and due to the nature of body jewelry, we cannot accept exchanges or returns once the seal is broken — there are no exceptions to this policy. Please inspect jewelry carefully prior to unsealing your package. We reserve the right to deny unreasonable returns or exchange requests.

Jewelry Ineligible for Exchanges and Returns

Due to the nature of body jewelry, all of our 14K solid gold jewelry are final sale and not eligible for return. This includes our 14K gold seam rings, 14K gold clickers and 14K gold charms. We suggest visiting a trusted piercing professional for installation assistance to avoid mishandling.

We do not process returns or exchanges for jewelry that has been purchased through our Partner studios, please contact them directly with any issues.

WITHIN U.S.

For all exchanges and returns within the U.S., please send an email to info@tetherjewelry.com and include your name, address, and order number, and tell us what new size you need or if you'd like to return the jewelry. We will provide you with a return label if your return falls under our policy.

Domestic Exchanges
Once we receive your returned item in its original heat-sealed packaging, you will receive a check out link for a $10 exchange fee that will need to be paid before your new item will be shipped out using standard USPS mail.

Domestic Returns
For returns, once we receive your returned item and it is compliant with our policy, we will refund your amount paid minus a $20 restocking fee within 5 business days.

INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGES AND RETURNS

If returning your jewelry, once we receive your returned item we will refund your item(s) minus a $20USD restocking fee within 5 business days after receipt. 

Very sorry - we are a small team and are constantly improving our operations. Please send us an email at info@tetherjewelry.com with a photo of the items in error, and we will provide instructions for return. Of course, we will cover any shipping costs incurred. 

Approved returns will be credited to the original form of payment within five to ten business days after receiving the return package.

Our performance grade clickers are cast from 316L stainless steel. All of our link weights and magnetic lockets are also cast from 316L stainless steel unless otherwise noted.

Our 14K gold collection which includes 14K clickers, seam rings, charms and threadless ends are made with 100% certified recycled 14K gold. Our threadless ends feature Intrinsic made steel pins.

Our Modern Hoops are made from cast brass and .925 Silver, electro plated 18K Gold or 18K Rose Gold plated. Our Modern Studs and Cuffs are cast in Responsible Jewelry Council certified recycled 925 sterling silver, and come in 925 Sterling Silver, electro-plated 18K Gold & 18K Rose Gold.

Our Native Metal weights come in high polished Brass, Copper or White Bronze.

Our Solid Gold Collection is made from 100% certified recycled 14K nickel-free gold Yellow Gold, Rose Gold, and White Gold. This collection is perfect for those with skin sensitivities and/or nickel allergies.

We design solid 14K gold threadless ends using 100% Responsible Jewelry Council certified recycled gold and they feature Intrinsic made steel pins. That means our gold designs are made with the highest level of environmental, ethical and quality accountability.

We offer a carefully curated selection of diamonds and gemstones that are mined and cut ethically, have minimal impact on the environment, or are created in a sustainable way. All of our diamonds are sourced following the Kimberley Process, and we only design using natural, untreated stones.

As part of our dedication to sustainability, we work with recycled material as much as possible. Our Solid 14K Gold Collection, brass and silver designs are all made with certified recycled metals. We cast our clicker products 316L stainless steel products with the intention of the product lasting a lifetime. We want to look good with the adornment we make, but we also want to take care of mother earth along the way.

PVD is a high-temperature coating process that is fully automated, and takes place in a sealed vacuum system. This method to deposit and build thin layers of vaporized metal condensation onto a surface. This process creates a super hard, stable, and beautiful color coating. It uses no harsh chemicals, make no waste products and provides a safer working environment. PVD coatings are safe to handle, non-toxic and biocompatible.

Ion plating is a type of physical vapor deposition (PVD) process which a single or multi-layer coatings can be applied during the same process cycle. Because it uses high heat and real gold metal vapor, ion plated jewelry is proven to last longer than electroplated jewelry. Durability of the coating depends on the maintenance, environmental conditions and other factors.

Our Modern Hoop Collection is electro-plated and cast from high quality brass with .925 silver wire for the wearability. Our lockets and Native Metal Collection are cast from high quality bronze, copper and white bronze.

Bronze and brass jewelry may oxidize over time. We recommend Sunshine brand polishing cloths for more heavy polishing. It will remove all oxidation and bring back the shine. However it may remove gold plating as well. For more gentle polishing, spot clean with a soft cloth or cotton ball saturated with jewelry cleanser that is safe to use on gold. Do not scrub. Allow it to dry completely.

Prevention is key - here are a few simple tips on how to prevent tarnishing our bronze, brass and silver jewelry:

1. Keep it dry and away from water

Take off your jewelry before coming in contact with water, specifically when entering showers, pools, hot tubs, any body of water and steam rooms or saunas.

2. Keep it safe

Store your clean, dry jewelry in a dry airtight container and not in the bathroom. Small ziploc bags or Tupperware work well. If you will you storing a piece for a significant period of time, adding an anti-tarnish strip with the jewelry can slow down the process even further. Electro plated jewelry tarnishes if subjected to any material that does not have a neutral pH, causing a skin-metal oil reaction that may cause a discoloration to occur.

STAINLESS STEEL

316L contains 10-13% nickel. If you have a sensitivity to nickel, you should not wear this product.  If you experience a reaction while wearing our products, you should stop wearing it immediately.

14K SOLID GOLD

All of our solid 14K gold designs are nickel-free, including our white gold.

STERLING SILVER

Sterling .925 silver does not contain nickel and is a great alternative for those with metal sensitivities.

BRONZE, COPPER AND WHITE BRONZE

Both Bronze and White Bronze contain traces of nickel. If you are considering one of our weights, we recommend a design finished in Copper, which contains no nickel.

Our original specialty is our elevated take on the classic clicker, precision cast from 316L stainless steel. We love 316L steel as our preferred material because it is versatile and durable, allowing hinge and clasp mechanisms to stand the test of time, while also allowing the jewelry to be infused with our unique design approach. When our naked stainless steel designs are high-polished to a mirror finish, they are both beautiful to behold and largely biocompatible. The care we take in choosing materials and manufacturing ensures that our clickers will remain attractive and functional for a lifetime - in fact we stand behind all of our stainless steel clickers with a limited lifetime warranty. This means that Tether guarantees our classic clickers from breaking, and guarantees the hinge to close properly for a lifetime. If you find defects with your stainless steel clicker, please send an email to info@tetherjewelry.com and we will get you sorted.  If we are unable to service or replace your stainless steel clicker, we will provide a store credit for the original purchase amount. Stainless steel clicker products must be purchased from our website with proof of purchase in order to qualify for our limited lifetime warranty. 

There are two size variant categories we use to describe our jewelry - the inner diameter, and the gauge (thickness) of the post.

Inner Diameter

We mainly produce the popular sizes - 8mm (5/16") and 9.5mm (3/8") (and a few limited runs of 6.5mm and 12mm). At the moment we do not offer custom sizing beyond custom solid 14K gold pieces in what is already designed in our current line. If you are interested in a custom solid 14K gold jewelry in one of our unique designs, please drop us a message using the contact form. 

Gauge

We have found after years of trial and error that 14 gauge is the minimum thickness required for a strong and solid hinge for our clickers. We have slowly started to release 16g in select designs that have the structural integrity to support the thinner gauge. Therefore we only offer most clickers in 14g and some select designs in 16g. 

*PLEASE NOTE* Because of our metal casting and production process there could be a +/- 0.5mm variance on inner diameters of our products.

We highly suggest making an appointment with your local piercing studio to assess your sizing needs. Everyone's anatomy is different, and it is difficult for us to tell what size you might need through photos.

It is also possible to order directly through our stockists if you’re unsure of sizing/fit.
